Physical description: 15 lines per page; written in early Abbasid script (style D.IV--see Déroche, F., The Abbasid tradition, no. 41) in gold on parchment. Ruled marginal lines with decorations in gold and color. The first four folios are elaborately illuminated. The diacritical marks and vowel signs are probably a later addition. Ms. in good condition
Origin: According to Déroche (no. 41), from the 9th century.

Arabic leather binding; gilt stamped.

Arabic.
Provenance
Gift of Robert Garrett (Class of 1897) in January 1942; subsequently sold by the Trustees to John Work Garrett in February 1942, who later gifted the ms. to Johns Hopkins University.
