A eulogy singing of the might and grandeur of monarchs who ruled over Ḥimyar. A copious historical commentary is appended.

Title from title page (fol. 1a).
Marginal notes. Folios number 72 and 108 by a different hand. Only 123 verses of the ode are in MS. It is of value only as a comparatively unfalsified record of royal names.
Collation: Paper ; fol. 108 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 13-26 lines per page.
Description: Red, yellow, green and black ink ; watermarks (three crescents) ; MS in fair condition.
Decoration: Illuminated title page in red, yellow, and black (fol. 1a).
Origin: According to colophon copy completed 16 Jumādā [?] 1194 by Saʻīd Ṣubḥ Allāh (fol. 108b).
Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الامر جدًا وهو غير مزاح فانظر لنفسك صالحا باصاح ...
Colophon: تمت القصيدة النشوانية [و] شرحها. رحم الله ناضمها [ناظمها] وشارحها والناظر فيها وجميع المؤمنين والمؤمنات ووالدينا واخواننا ومشايخنا في الدين. وکان الفراغ من نسخها وقت اذان العشاء في الليلة المعبر عنها صبح الاثنين بعد 16 شهر جمادا د[؟] سنة 1194 بقلم افقر عباد الله سعيد صبح الله
Binding note
Later type II (with flap) binding in dark brown leather. Gold?-stamped mandorla with pendants on upper cover; blind-stamped and -tooled decorative edging on lower cover. Blind-stamped design on flap. Paper pastedown with block-stamped silver design inside upper cover. Apparently pieces re-used from three different bindings.
