Title from table of contents (fol. (2)b).
Marginal notes and glosses. Before title page occur two damaged folios containing a table of contents and some calculations wrapped in a folded folio with watermarks. Fol. 173b has a stamp impression overlaying the text, and a count of the written sheets, 173.
Collation: Paper ; fol. (4) + 173 ; catchwords ; quires signed: 2-18 ; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 31 lines per page.
Description: Text in red and commentary in black ; MS in very good condition but several folios are mended.
Origin: According to colophon copied by Aḥmad ibn ʻĀl[ī] al-Baḥrī al-Mālikī (fol. 173b).
Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ... الحمد لله الذي الهمنا حقايق المعاني ودقايق البيان
Colophon: على يد الفقير بن الفقير احمد بن عل [علي] البحري المالکي غفر الله تعال [تعالى] ذنوبه وستر عيوبه في الدنيا والآخرة وختم له بالحسنى والمسلمين اجمعين وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد واله وصحبه اجمعين وسلام عل [على] المرسلين والحمد لله رب العالمين ولا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم تم الکتاب
Binding note
Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and blind-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Pink paper pastedowns. Not sewn.
