Marginal notes and glosses.
Collation: Paper ; fol. 142 + (2) ; catchwords ; quires signed: 2-15 ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 11 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red with a double line text border, larger frame line, and an edge line.
Description: Rubrication ; vowel signs ; watermarks (shield with face-in-a-moon, roman-alphabet letters "VG") ; MS in excellent condition.
Decoration: Simple illuminated headpiece consisting of red crosshatching.
Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم .... قال محمد هو ابن مالك * احمد ربي الله خير ملك
Colophon: واقول کان فراغي من جمعه يوم الجمعة ثالث رمضان المعظم قدره سنة اثنين وستين وثمانمائة بمدرسة الصالحية ... وحسبنا الله ونعم الوکيل ولا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم
Binding note
Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and blind-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Does not appear to have ever been sewn.
