Marginal notes. Seal of Solomon (fol. 2b). On two pages before first is the beginning of a work on grammar.
Collation: Paper ; fol. 104 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red on folios 1-9, 20-41 and 102-105
Description: Rubricated ; overlining in red ; watermarks (hand-star) ; two types of paper ; MS in good condition with a few folios stained with dampness and mended.
Decoration: First page has simple illuminated headpiece in silver-flecked gray.
Origin: MS dated 944 after the colophon (fol. 104a).
Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحىم وبه نستعىن. الحمد لله الذي انزل من السماء الفرقان
Colophon: تم شرح المصباح المسمى بالافتتاح بعون الله الملك الوهاب
Binding note
Later type II (with flap) binding in brown leather and paper. A row of holes inset from the inside edge indicate earlier binding.
