  • Volumes VII-XIII of a historical commentary on Nahj al-balāghah, a collection of the speeches, letters and maxims of the Caliph ʻAlī.
  • Beg.: بسم الله الرحمن الرحىم. الحمد لله الواحد العدل. الاصل فلما مهد ارضه وانفذ امره اختار آدم.
  • Colophon: تم الجزء الثالث عشر من شرح نهج البلاغة والحمد لله وحده وصلواته على نبىه محمد واله وصحبه. تم
  • Marginal and interlinear notes and glosses; ruled marginal lines in gold and color. Folios 1, 2 (a), 75, 162, 245, 246 (a), 313, 374, 447 and 448 (a) are elaborately decorated and illuminated in gold and color. On back of first page and on preceding folio are two autographs of owners, Sūrah I of the Qurʼān and a statement about the author and his works. MS in good condition but worm-eaten; Arabic leather binding; gilt stamped and tooling on outside and inside of cover. Rare. Probably from XVIth century.
