    A collection of wise sayings, proverbs, anecdotes and poems on religious, moral and social topics. Fol. 38b has a chart of Ottoman rulers.
    Notes
    • Collation: Paper ; fol. 179 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
    • Decoration: Illuminated gilt headpiece. Fol. 1b and 2a are frame-ruled in double gold lines.
    • Description: Rubricated ; MS contains some red, green and yellow paper ; watermarks (grapes, design incorporating a heart) ; MS in good condition but several folios are worm-eaten and mended.
    • Layout: 13-32 lines per page.
    • Marginal notes and glosses. On the title page occur a statement about the Caliph ʻUmar, a statement about telling the truth and another that the owner of the collection and its copyist is Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī al-ʻAṭṭār al-Ḥusaynī, dated 1140 [1727/8]. After the colophon are six verses of poetry, and an amplification (takhmīs) by the shaykh ʻAbd al-Ghanī. On the inside of the front cover occur a statement by someone about his futile career in alchemy and several autographs of owners; and on the inside of the back cover, a statement about someoneʼs attempted trip from Damascus to Izmīr.
