Summary note
A collection of poems and the lives of their authors. MS in six parts: (1) the fine qualities of the people of Damascus and its environs, (2) the fine qualities of contemporary Maghribis, (3) Makkah and its inhabitants, (4) Egypt, (5) the Greeks and some of the authorʼs experiences with Greek leaders.
Notes
A few marginal notes. On back of the first page are eleven verses of poetry, two of which are by Manṣūr al-Balbīsi.
Collation: Paper ; fol. 247 ; catchwords ; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; quires signed 1-25 ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Description: Vowel signs ; verse separators in red ; rubricated ; watermarks (three crescents, roman-alphabet cursive letters "PR" ; MS in excellent condition.
Layout: 25 lines per page.

Origin: According to colophon copied Saturday 14 Rajab 1245 by ʻUthmān al-Ṭishāwī/al-Ṭanishāwī[?] (fol. 247a).

Binding note
Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in light brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and tooled edging. Blind-stamped motif and tooling on flap. Multi-colored endbands. Block stamped design in red and yellow on pastedowns.
