The ʻIrāqīyāt of al-Abīwardi, a poem dealing with al-ʻIrāq and containing youthful effusions and eulogies of ʻAbbāsid Caliphs and their ministers.

  • Title from title page (fol. 1a).
  • Marginal notes. Title page is full of faded and overlapping inscriptions. MS comprises only a part of the complete poetical works of the author.
  • Collation: Paper ; fol. 70 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
  • Layout: 17 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red with double-red line between hemistitches.
  • Description: Rubricated ; vowel signs ; watermarks (replacement folios only: coat-of-arms, three crescents and roman-alphabet letters "tre lune") ; MS in good condition, light staining. Folios 50, 51, 60, 61 and 70 are by a different hand and are a later replacement. Several folios have been mended.
