Summary note
A commentary on the famous Zaynabīyah ode, attributed to the Caliph ʻAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, abridged from the commentaries of al-Simallāwi and others.
Notes
Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 77 + iii ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Description: Text in red and commentary in black ; MS in good condition.
Layout: 21 lines per page.
Marginal notes and glosses. On title page are a charm and a Coptic calendar. After colophon is a note stating that this copy was compared with others belonging to ʻAbd al-Hādī Mūsá, a proof reader in Būlāq Printing Press, 1300 (1882/83) and found to be in exact agreement. On folio after colophon are several poems on love.

Origin: According to colophon copied al-Aḥad 12 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1276 by Muḥammad ibn Salāmah ibn ʻAbd al-Khāliq al-Shāfiʻī [surnamed al-Wāʻiẓ] (fol. 76b).

Colophon: وکان الفراغ من کتابتها يوم الاحد المبارك ثاني عشر ذي الحجة الذي هو من شهور عام سنة ستة وسبعين ومايتين والف من هجرة من له المجد والشرف صلى الله عليه وسلم. على يد الفقير المعترف بالذنب والتقصير المحتاج الى عفو ربه القدير محمد ابن سلامة بن عبد الخالق الشافعي غفرالله له ولوالديه واحسن اليهما واليه ولمن نظر فيه ودعي [ودعا] لهم بالمغفرة ولکافة المسلمين اجمعين والحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه اجمعين کلما ذکره الذاکرون وغفل عن ذکره الغافلون صلاة وسلاما الى يوم الدين. تم
