      • fol. 2b-62b. 180 x 132; 118 x 81 mm. 13 lin. Jumādá II, 875.
      • Identical with the mss. Fihrist al-kutub al-ʻarabīyah (1887-1892/3), III, 81, Buhar 153, British Museum Supplement 278, and Fihris al-kutub al-mawjūdah bi-al-Maktabah al-Azharīyah, II, 209, listed as Umdat al-muftī waʼ-mustaftī of Ibn Māzah, d. 536/1141 (Brockelmann, GAL, I, 462, 10: no. 3; S I, 640); the same text is found also in ms. Hitti, Garrett collection no. 1687 [shelf no. Islamic Manuscripts, Garrett no. 150B] (with title al-Fatāwī al-ṣughrá on title page by a later hand). On the other hand, the ms. Berlin 4812 ('ʻUmdat al-fatāwá) contains an entirely different work, apparently identical with that described by Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, s.v. ʻUmdat al-fatāwá (IV, 262, no. 8330).
      • The mss. Gotha 1041 and Bologna 196/7 (listed in Brockelmann, GAL, S I, 644, lin. 9) as well as Vatican 477 (2) and Garrett no. 4179Y of the present collection (margin of fol. 1b, later hand) bear the title al-Nuqāyah (the authorʼs name does not appear) - this would suggest that our text is identical with the Nuqāyah described by Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, col. 1971 (VI, 373, no. 13951 Flügel); according to Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, this work was also known under the titles al-ʻUmdah, al-Nuqāyah al-ṣughrá, al-Nuqāyah fī ʻilm al-hidāyah, and Nuqāyat Qāḍī Khān.
