  • Ms. codex.
  • Physical description: 8 lines per page; written in New Style script (NS. III--see Déroche, F., The Abbasid tradition, no. 79) in brown-black ink on parchment. Two types of vocalization used: red dots and modern vocalization in brown-black. Āyahs terminate with gilt flowers. Sūrah names in gilt outlined with brown-black ink and accompanied by polychrome fleur-de-lis designs. Floral medallions in margins mark every ten verses.
  • Origin: Dated 292 H [904 or 5] (fol. 48a).
Binding note
Full brown leather over pasted boards with central stamped medallion and fillets; leather doublures. Ex libris of Robert Garrett on inner front cover.
