    Summary note
The authors posit that international government organizations (IGOs) make a difference in international interactions because they are utilized by and have influence on even the most powerful states. In three theoretical chapters and nine case studies, they examine the interaction of the United States with various IGOs (in the fields of security, economic policy, social policy, and human rights) and find a two-way flow of interaction between national and international political systems. ISBN 0-04-445659-X: $49.95.
