Summary note
This biography of Gaspar de Haro Guzman (1629 .1687), VII Marquis of Carpio, also offers insight into the cites of Madrid, Rome, and Naples, where the Marquis was a diplomat. This is reflected in the book's three sections: his time at the Madrid court (1629-1674) and transition to Italy (1674-1677); at the Rome Embassy (1677-1682); and, as Viceroy of Naples. This work attempts to assess the importance of each of his artistic initiatives and their repercussions on the history of art and art collecting.--Publisher.
