Anonymous 18th-century French commonplace book (309 pp., including index), containing entries of literary gossip, dated from 9 February 1762 to 18 December 1778. Many of these are in verse, satirizing figures in the public eye; Voltaire is quoted a number of times. Possibly kept by someone close to the events.
