Treatise on Sufi doctrine in ten chapters (bāb), based on the Kitāb ʻAwārif al-maʻārif by al-Suhrawardī (see beginning of text, fol. 3b). See description of contents in preamble, fol. 4b-6a.

• Ms. codex.
• Title from beginning of text (fol. 4a, l. 6-7).
• Physical description: 17 lines per page. Written in medium small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Vocalization of the Arabic parts of the text in red. The text is framed in ruled red and blue lines, with an outer frame consisting of a single red line. Interlinear and marginal annotations in red and black, chiefly explanation of words. Margins worm-eaten.
• Decoration: Two first pages of text illuminated (fol. 1b-2a), with headpiece in blue, gold and color, with floral motif ; text written in clouds left plain on a gold ground defined in black ; ruled frame in gold, blue, and green, outer frame consisting of one single red line.
• Chiefly quaternions ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
• Origin: The copy is not dated. The script, paper, and decoration suggest the 18th or more probably 19th century.
• Incipit: بسم ... حمدي كه لمعات صدق ونفحات اخلاص
• Explicit: اكثر سوادهم بالانتماء اليهم من اوليايك ويرحم الله عبدا قال امينا تم الكتاب بعون الملك الوهاب

Binding note

Red leather over pasteboards. Both covers have a central medallion in black leather with a floral motif in white and yellow, with two pendants on the vertical axis in gold stamped leather. Outer border consising of silver and gold fillets. Marbled paper pastedowns.
