  • Title from colophon (fol. 138a).
  • Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Thin dark cream paper, glossy, with large laid lines and pulp visible. Collation notes on the margin. Inscriptions and short texts in Arabic and Persian on fol. 1a-2a and 138b-142b.
  • Inscription in Roman script on a spine label (vertical): "Y51" (repeated on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover). Inscription in Arabic in pencil on fol. (i)a: "Raqm 57 min kutub al-Baghdādī".
  • Origin: According to colophon, copied by Ibn Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad al-Wāʻiẓ al-Mashhadī Muḥammad Shafīʻ, Tuesday 16 Jumādá al-Awwal 1092 [June 3, 1681] (fol. 138a).
  • Incipit: هو العالى المتعال بسم ... وبه نستعين محمد بن يعقوب الكلينى قال حدثنى على بن ابراهيم عن ابيه عن ابن فضال عن حفص المؤذن عن ابى عبد الله عليه السلام وعن محمد بن اسمعيل ... عن ابى عبد الله عليه السلام انه كتب بهذه الرسالة الى اصحابه وامرهم بمدارستها والنظر فيها
