Gloss on al-Wāfiyah fī sharḥ al-Kāfiyah, a commentary by al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad al-Astarābādī (d. ca. 715/1315) on al-Kāfiyah, a treatise on grammar by ʻUthmān ibn ʻUmar ibn al-Ḥājib (d. 646/1249).

  • Title from inscription on fol. 1a.
  • Physical description: 23 lines per page. Written in black ink with use of red for "aqūl". Ḥāshiyah on the margin apparently by the same hand as the main text (beginning of text only). Several short glosses on fol. 1a. Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
  • Collation: Paper, fol. 20 ; 1-2⁸ 3⁴ ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
  • Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Naḥw 76". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "1298/2 Ḥ".
  • Origin: The date 932 [Mach reads: 937] is written at the end of the text (fol. 20b).,
  • Incipit: بسم ... قوله اعلم ان معرفة هذا الحد اقول حد الشىء ما يبين ماهيته
  • Explicit: بتاويل المصدر كما ذكر تم الكتاب بعون الله

Limp binding in brown leather with a geometric decoration consisting of blind fillets. Paper pastedowns.
