Summary note
Elegant copy of a treatise on Ḥanafī law. The text is preceded on fol. 1b-7a by a description of contents.

Title from end of text (fol. 287a).
Physical description: 19 lines. Written in nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red; gold for entries and text stops on fol. 1b-7b. The text is framed in gold outlined in black. Dark cream paper with laid lines and fibres visible. Several inscriptions and short excerpts on fol. (i)a-(ii)b, including ownership statements.
Decoration: Illuminated headpieces (ʻunwān) on fol. 1b and 7b, elegantly executed in gold, red, blue, light blue and white.
Origin: According to colophon, copied by Faḍl Allāh ibn Muḥammad in Qusṭantinīyah, and completed on Thursday 10 Shawwāl 1002 [June 1594] (fol. 287a).
Incipit: الحمد لله وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى وبعد فلما يسر الله تعالى اتمام كتاب الاشباه والنظاير الفقهية على مذهب الحنفية المشتمل على سبعة انواع اردت ان افهرسه فى اوله ليسهل الكظر فيه الاول فن القواعيد الاولى

Explicit: على راس شجرتين فتقطع نصفين [287أ] رحمه الله تعالى وهذا اخر ما اوردناه من كتاب الاشباه والنظاير فى الفقه على مذهب الامام الاعظم والهمام الاكرم ابى حنيفة النعمان بن ثابت ... وقد كان الفراغ من تأليفه فى السابع والعشرين من جمادى الاخرة سنة تسع وستين وتسعماية وكانت مدة تأليفه ستة اشهر مع تخلّل ايام توعك الجسد والحمد لله على التمام وصلى الله ... رذوان الله تعالى عليهم اجمعين والحمد لله رب العالمين امين امين امين
Binding note
Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers and envelope flap. The covers have a gold stamped central scalloped mandorla filled with a floral arabesque left plain. The border is not visible on the covers due to repair. Smaller stamp on the envelope flap, with a border consisting of fillets and a guilloche in gold. Red-brown leather doublure.
