Summary note
An astronomical table with calculations for the period between the start of 1237H and Shawwāl 1240 (September 1821-May/June 1825) and covering a large geographical area, including cities in the Balkans, Anatolia, North Africa and Iran, apparently a continuation to/based on a table written in French by Cassini and translated by Halife Zade İsmail Efendi (see start of text). The explicit is from fol. 4a, as this is the end of the narrative part (followed by the colophon) and the rest of the work is the table itself. The gaps (...) in the explicit are astronomical symbols.
Notes
Ms. codex.
Title from fol. 1b.
Copied by Mehmet, known as Sufi Dede, resident of the Koca Mustafa Paşa Hanegah (Istanbul?) and completed on the 25th of Rabīʻ al-Awwal 1242 (1826) -- colophon (fol. 4a).
21 lines per page. Written in a medium sized naskh in black and red ink (the script inside the tables in smaller). The text (and the tables) are inside a double line frame in red ink. On fol. 1b-2a the frames are in gold leaf outlined in black ink. Fol. 1b has an illuminated head piece in gold with green, blue and red watercolors. Catchwords present in the narrative section of the work. Glazed European paper.
