• Physical description: 19 lines per page. Written in medium small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red to overline the commented text. The text is framed within a single red line. European paper with watermark. Table of contents on fol. 1b-2b. Inscription in Arabic script in black ink on fol. 1a: "Numrah 373". Margins worm-eaten.
• Origin: Copy completed on Friday 2 Muḥarram 1038 [Sept. 1, 1628] by Ibrāhīm ibn Darwīsh (colophon, fol. 204a).
• Incipit: حامدا لله تعالى اولا وثانيا ولعنان الثنآء اليه ثانيا وعلى افضل رسله محمد والى مصليا وفى حلية الصلوات مجليا ومصليا وبعد فانّ العبد المتوسل الى الله تعالى باقوى الذريعة عبيد الله بن مسعود ابن تاج الشريعة سعد جدّه وانجح جدّه يقول لما وفقنى الله تعالى بتأليف تنقيح الاصول اردت ان اشرح مشكلاته وافتح مغلقاته معرضا عن شرح المواضع التى من لا يحلها بغير اطناب

Binding note

Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers have a similar blind-stamped central mandorla and an outer border consisting of fillets. Traces of a now wanting fore-edge flap. Spine broken. Marbled paper pastedown.
