    Summary note
    A poem of religious contents, concerning the Islamic tradition in general and that relating to the Prophet in particular. The poem is a re-working in Ottoman verse by the author of the second part of his prose work in Arabic entitled Maghārib al-zamān.

    • Copied by Musa ibn Mustafa, known as Kara Hoca Zade and completed in Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1025 (1616) -- colophon (fol. 279b).
    • 17 lines per page. Written in a medium-sized vocalised naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is written in two columns inside a single line frame in red ink. The text frames on fol. 1b-2a are in gold leaf outlined in black ink. Fol. 1b has an illumnated head piece in gold leaf and blue and red watercolors. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European [?] paper. Fol. ia-b has a table of contents in black ink in a later hand.

    Binding note
    Brown leather over pasteboard with envelope flap. Blind stamped mandorlas in the centre of upper and lower covers and on envelope flap. Binding is damaged and some leaves are loose.
