    Summary note
    A translation into Ottoman Turkish of the Arabic lexicon by Jawharī. According to the text, the translation is based both on the original text, Ṣiḥāḥ al-Jawharī, and the abridgment of the original, Mukhtār al-Ṣiḥāḥ by Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Rāzī.

    • Copy completed in 1030 (1620-21) -- colophon (fol. 153b).
    • 27 lines per page. Written in a small naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Fol. 2b-3a have a gold leaf frame outlined in black ink, and fol. 3b-4a and 153a have a single line frame in red ink. No catchwords. Thick glazed paper with visible chain lines. Short inscriptions on fol. 1a, 2a and 153b-154b (prayers, invocations, quotations etc.). Water damage to the paper and some repairs.

    Ms. is disbound, many sections and leaves are loose and of the binding only the lower cover remains: red leather with a gold guilloche and fillets around borders; blue and yellow marbled paper as pastedown.
