Summary note
An old and poor widower had two sons and two daughters. The oldest son had been studying for the high ranking civil service exam, while the younger son had no job. His daughter was a mute, who got divorced against her will. The father happened to get to know a maid who was working in neighbor and they fell in love. Finally, The older son passed the exam and the other son got the job.
