Summary note
Gloss on the long commentary by Masʻūd ibn ʻUmar al-Taftazānī (d. 791/1389) on Takhīṣ al-Miftāḥ, and abrigment of Part Three Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm by al-Sakkākī (d. 626/1229), on rhetoric (al-maʻānī wa-al-bayān). The text appears to be incomplete at end (see Explicit and colophon note).

Title from inscription on fol. 2a.
Physical description: 23 lines per page. Written in small cursive nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red mainly for "qawluhu" and overlining. Light cream paper with pulp, laid and chain lines visible. Several inscriptions, including verses of poetry in Persian, on fol. 1a and 2a. Title on tail of text block.
Collation: Paper, fol. 64, x ; 1-7⁸ 8⁸ (+1, end of quire, fol. 58) 9⁶ + x (later added quinion, European paper) ; last words of the verso repeated at the beginning of the next recto.
Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Lisān 37". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of upper cover: "Ḥā 936".
Origin: Copy completed in 873 by ʻAlī ibn Ibrāhīm (colophon, fol. 64b).
Incipit: قال الشارح رحمه الحمد لله وهو قد ذكر فكفينا مؤمنة قوله الهمنا الالهام ايقاع الشىء من الخير فى القلب بطريق الفيض
Explicit and colophon: باعتبار انه لا تخصصت التجريد به بحكم ان مطلوبها هو الذكر وهو نفس المذكور صريحا قوله تمت بعون الله الملك الوهاب على يد العبد الضعيف على بن ابراهم فى تاريخ سنه ثلث وسبعين وثمانمايه
Binding note
Red-brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Blind obloid stamp on both covers, with an outer frame consisting of fillets. Similar frame on envelope flap, with a blind stamped medallion. Paper pastedown.

From the books of Aḥmad Najīb ibn Aḥmad Ṭāhir (ownership statement dated 1287 H. [1870 or 71] on fol. 1a). Ownership statement in the name of ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz known as Muʼmin Zade, mudarris in the madrasah Suhayl Bey (fol. 2a). Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
