Summary note
The collection contains posters, fleyers, pamphlets and serials published in and outside Spain concerning Spain's political and economic situation. The material was primarily published in resistance and response to Francisco Franco's dictatorship that last from 1936 to 1975. The majority of the materials were published in the 1960s and 1970s by political opponents and dissenters, usually organized as political parties and labor unions, of Franco. A large amount of the collection comprises serials and newspapers written in Catalan by exiled political organizations and published in southern France. A range of communist, socialist and Marxists views and opinions is expressed by authors that include politicians, professors, unionizers and laborers. The obvious intent of these publications was to agitate Spain's political scene and depose Franco, which eventually occured in 1975.
