Collection contains card photographs in several distinct groups. Stereographs (ca. 9 x 18 cm.) include views published by Underwood & Underwood: Egypt through the stereoscope, Palestine through the stereoscope, Greece through the stereoscope, and Italy; miscellaneous views of various countries published by Underwood & Underwood, Keystone View Company, and others; miscellaneous stereographs of U.S. armed forces, largely during the Spanish American War; battleships, ships, and boats; U.S. presidents; genre scenes and humor; botanical studies, floral and funeral decorations; the moon; non-photographic stereographs of optical illusions and movement. Cabinet cards (ca. 11 x 17 cm.) include portraits of British and European royalty and nobility (many by Lafayette Studio and W. & D. Downey), U.S. presidents and first ladies, politicians, and various famous figures; group of 130 views of Mexico[?] (13 x 18 cm.), and over 70 landscape views (14 x 22 cm.). Cartes-de-visite (ca. 6.5 x 10.5 cm.) include portraits of British and European royalty, U.S. presidents and vice presidents, Civil War generals and soldiers (many by Brady National Photographic Art Gallery), and various famous figures, miscellaneous men and women, Russian costumes, and miscellaneous views.
