Incipit: الحمد لله خالق الارواح والاجسام وجاعل النور والظلام ... قال الشيخ الامام الزاهد البارع فقيه الامة ظهير الشريعة محي السنة مقتدى الانام بقية الاسلاف كريم الاطراف افتخار الملة والدين ركن الاسلام فى العالمين طاهر بن احمد بن عبد الرشيد البخارى نوّر الله تربته واعلى فى الجنان رتبته قد عرفتم اخوانى ايّدكم الله تعالى ان العلوم كثيرة والاعمار قصيرة
Explicit: قال رضى الله عنه كانه اخذ بقول ابى حنيفة ... فان اخضر فى تلك المدة قضى له والا ابطل شفقته والله تعالى اعلم بالصواب
Physical description: vol. 1 is written in small naskh with elements of taʻlīq in black ink with use of red for headings, overlining and re-inking, 27 lines per page (205 x 125 mm.), on European(?) paper. Vol. 2 is written in medium small square naskh in black ink with use of red, 29 lines per page (200 x 120 mm.), on thick soft cream paper, with laid lines and pulp visible, frame-ruled ; marginal annotations. Vol. 1, fol. 1-2 are later additions with a table of contents. Vol. 2, fol. 1-2 are later additions with the end of the first part (juzʼ) and a table of contents of the second part. Several inscriptions, some erased, on vol. 1, fol. 2b-3a. Inscription in Arabic numerals on the tail of the text block of each vol., reading respectively "1" and "2".
Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover of each volume, reading respectively: "Thānī 275" and "Thānī 276".
Origin: Copy of vol. 2 completed on 2 Shaʻbān 86?7 [April 22, 1463] (colophon, vol. 2, fol. 229b). The fist vol. appears to be from a later date.
Binding note
Peru paper over pasteboards for upper and lower covers and envelope flap. Brown leather spine and fore-edge flap. Paper pastedowns and free endpaper.
