Summary note

Treatise on the pauses in the reading of the Qurʼān. The text is followed on fol. 94b-95a by a short excerpt from Kitāb Marātib al-uṣūl wa-gharāʼib al-fuṣūl attributed to al-Sakhāwī, on the names given to various categories of readers of the Qurʼān, written by the same hand.

• Incipit: قال ابو عمرو عثمن بن سعيد بن عثمن المقرى الداني الاندلسي رضي الله عنه الحمد لله المتوحد بالقدرة المنفرد بالكبرياء والعظمة ... هذا كتاب الوقف التام والوقف الكافى والحسن فى كتاب الله عز وجل اقتضبته من اقاويل المفسرين ومن كتب القرآء
• Explicit: قالت من صلى الجمعة ثم قرا بعدها قل هو الله احد والمعود بين حفظ او كفي من مجلسه ذلك الى مثله
• Physical description: 19 lines per page. Written in small naskh in black ink. Cream paper with laid and chain lines visible. The lower part of the first fol. is mended with a piece of paper with inscriptions. Two inscriptions in pencil on the upper cover : "A271a" (in Roman script), and "289" (in Arabic numerals, in purple).
• Collation: Paper, fol. 95 ; 1-9¹⁰ 10⁶ (-1, after fol. 95) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
• Origin: Copy completed on Yawm al-Sabt 14 Dhū al-Qaʻdah 822 [Dec. 2, 1419] in Makkah (colophon, fol. 94a).
