Collection of two treatises on Qurʼānic sciences, the first by Muḥammad ibn ʻUzayr al-Sijistānī, explaining difficult words used in the Qurʼān, arranged in alphabetical order, the second, by Muḥammad ibn Abū Bakr al-Rāzī. These texts are followed on fol. 162b-163b by a short text in Persian.

  • Several inscriptions on the pastedown of the upper cover: "A259" (label; in Roman script); "158 Bl." (in Roman script) ; "... 140" (in Arabic script). Inscription in pencil on fol. 1a: "Raqm 82" (in Arabic script). Portions of a table of contents on fol. 3b and 4b. Fol. 47 b has a Table of contents for Text 2. Title on the tail of the text block (illegible).
  • Layout: 29 lines per page ; fol. 2a-4b and 6a frame-ruled in red.
  • Description: Written in medium small script in black ink with use of red. The last letters of some words at the end of a line are written on the margin. Red circle text-stops. Dark cream paper with pulp and laid lines visible. Foliation in Arabic numerals (starts with "2" on fol. 6a, the first original leaf). Fol. 1 and 2-5, 15, 47, 164-165 and 166 are later additions on European glazed paper with watermark of several types.

Type II (with flap) binding in brown leather over paper pasteboards. Blind-stamped mandorla and a border consisting of fillets on covers. Similar border on envelope flap. Yellow paper pastedown. Fore-edge flap damaged (paper of pasteboard visible).
