Summary note
Wooden tablet, of a kind found in Qurʼanic schools in many parts of the world, with text from the Qurʼan on both sides. The date is unknown. Such tablets are typically written by the students themselves, before their teachers review them to make corrections. Faint traces of an older text are visible indicating re-use.

  • Description: Rectangular wooden writing board with triangular handle. Handle has a border of carved decoration. Base to top of handle: 625 mm; width of base: 232-244 mm; 15-20 mm thick.
  • Text: Sūrat al-Aʻraf, verse 117-132 (Sūrah 7:117-132) on one side, and Sūrat al-Aʻraf 132-142 (Sūrah 7:132-142) on the other.
