• Layout: 15 lines per page.
• Description: Written in medium large script in black ink with use of dark red. Glazed light cream paper with regular laid lines and some chain lines visible. Title on tail of text block (illegible).
• Origin: Copy completed in Rabīʻ al-Awwal 816 by Aḥmad ibn ʻUmar ibn Aḥmad al-Ṭawīl (fol. 222b).

Binding note

Later type II (with flap) binding in dark brown leather over paper pasteboards. Blind-tooled and punched central medallion and elaborate outer frame on both covers and envelope flap. Spine cloth visible. Leather doublure.

Several ownership statements and two seals (illegible) on fol. 1a. One statement in the name of al-Sayyid Muḥammad ibn al-Sayyid Isḥāq ; one in the name of al-Ḥājj Abū Bakr ibn Muḥammad Ibn Salīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Salīm ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Aḥmad ibn ʻĪsá al-SḤ--?. One circular seal repeated throughout (see fol. 88a). Acquired by Robert Garrett from Brill, Leiden, 1900.
