    Hakanî Mehmet Bey's hilye, a poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, and Cevrî Ibrahim's hilye in praise of the first four 'rightly guided' caliphs.

    • Layout: 19 lines per page in two columns ; frame-ruled in red.
    • Description: Written in small script in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper.
    • Decoration: Illuminated headpiece in gold and blue (fol. 1b).
    • Origin: Copied by Ahmet bin Mustafa and completed in the last ten days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1153 (1741) -- colophon (fol. 24b).

    Binding note
    Burgundy leather with a gold tooled panel design on covers, consisting of a wide gold guilloche and fillets around borders, and a central rectangle made with sprigs interlacing in a diamond pattern with small rosetta stamps inside the pattern and outside the rectangle. Endleaves in cream and olive foliage motif paper.
