Summary note
One of Yahyâ Bey's five mesnevis. The main text ends on fol. 95a, and is followed after the colophon by five more pieces of Yahyâ Bey's poetry, including two mussamats and a kaside. Two of the pieces do not appear in his published Divan (see C̦avușoğlu, M., ed., Yahyâ Bey: Dîvan, Istanbul, 1977).
Notes
Ms. codex.
Title from the head piece on fol. 2a.
Copied by Ali bin Mustafa, known as Cayim Zade in the last ten days of Jumādá al-Ākhirah 1008 (1600) -- colophon (fol. 95a).
17 lines per page. Written in medium small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is written in two columns within a frame outlined in red ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. The additional pieces which follow the colophon are in same hand and style and seem to have been simply added later by the same scribe. Few short inscriptions on ff. 1b-2a, including a record of a certain Abdurahman Efendi's giving up tobacco and includes the witnesses etc., and several short texts on ff. 106b-108b, much of it verse. Two ownership seals on fol. 2a, one small oblong and one large circular, both almost completely obliterated. The second large seal is also on fol. 106b, but again obliterated.
