Collation: Paper, fol. 187 ; 1¹⁰ (-1, before fol. 1) 2-18¹⁰ 19¹⁰ (-2, after fol. 187) ; some quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals (see "tāsiʻ" on fol. 80a ; the next quire is numbered "ḥādī ʻashar"!) ; the central bifolio of each quire is marked by signs in the upper right corner of the verso and the lower left corner of the next recto (see fol. 154b-155a). Chiefly quinions.
Layout: 21 lines per page.
Description: Written in medium large script in black ink (faded to brown). Dark cream paper, glossy, with laid lines and pulp visible.
Origin: Copy completed in Salamīyah on 22 Shawwāl 655 by ʻAbd al-Bāqī ibn Saʻd Allāh ibn ʻAbd al-Bāqī(?), who copied the text for himself (li-nafsih) (colophon, fol. 187b).
Incipit: سورة ص اخبرنا ابو سعيد حمد بن علي الختان حدثنا محمد بن جعفر بن مطر ... قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من قرا سورة ص اعطي من الاجر
Explicit: وقرأت قل هو الله احد وقل اعوذ برب الفلق وقل اعوذ برب الناس سكن(؟) او ذهب تم الكتاب
Binding note
Lower and upper covers made of brown leather over paper pasteboards. Both covers have an elaborate blind tooled and gold painted panel, with a central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis inscribed within a large borderconsisting of several fillets and running patterns. Leather doublure. Upper cover damaged (paper pasteboard apparent) ; spine wanting.
