Little Lord Fauntleroy
Title in translation: Sad Little Lord [Fauntleroy] : A kamishibai picture-book.
This miniature kamishibai card set with stage, which was constructed out of the cover folder, is most likely based on the 1921 silent movie, "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (Shōkōshi), starring Mary Pickford. It follows much the same story as the film, beginning when the main character Cedric Errol (Cedie), the only son of a New York widow, suddenly finds out that he is the Earl of Dorincourt's sole heir. Cedie leaves his mother in New York City to take up residence with the Earl, who is his grandfather and who plans to turn him into an aristocrat. An incident with a fortune-hunting imposter, who tries to push her own son into Cedie's place, makes the grandfather realize the virtues of Cedie's real mother, and son and mother are reunited in the end.
On back cover of folder--"子供座".
