One side of the flip book animates a male athlete performing on the pommel horse, preceded by a brief introduction to Li Ning, one of China's most decorated athletes and the gold medalist in the pommel horse at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The other side animates the raising of three national flags (with the flag of China at the highest position) during an Olympic medal ceremony. Published in October 1984, several months after the People's Republic of China's first participation in the Olympics.
