    • Conjectural date based on other McLoughlin books crediting André in 1880s and 1890s, style of binding, and quality of paper, which is non-acidic (and not browned).
    • T.p. includes "é" for André's name (cf. other, apparently later, eds., which do not); does not include "Inc." after McLoughlin Brothers (cf. other copies which do); and has no McLoughlin owl logo (cf. other copies which do include this).
    • "List of Contents" on p. [3-4] organized as alphabetical index of stories.
    • McLoughlin issued this156 p. ed. of Grimm (listed as having 154 p. in their various catalogs) with different company ID nos. (#310, #817, #2376, and #3232), each with a different cover; McLoughlin also issued a number of other eds. of Grimm over the years, in various paginations and containing different stories.
    • Illustrations: T.p. vignette and engraved ills. throughourt the text, signed by Andre, Grot, "H. Günther," "DVAXA," and "RL"; no frontis.
