Aceph. copy of the first part of a commentary on al-Irshād ilá qawāṭiʻ al-adillah fī uṣūl al-iʻtiqād by Imām al-Ḥaramayn, ending before "al-Qawl fī khalq al-aʻmāl". The first quire in the copy as extant is the 11th (see note on fol. 2a, incomplete). The first complete quire is the 12th (fol. 4-13). See Mach, R. yahuda for a more detailed description of the contents.

  • 21 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for headings. Light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible. Kabīkaj in an ownership statement on fol. 182b, signed ʻAbd al-Kabīr al-Sharīf. Catchword on the verso of each leaf. The quires (quinions) are numbered using Arabic ordinals, in the form "al-Thānī ʻashar min al-awwal min Sharḥ al-Irshād lil-Anṣārī raḥimahu Allāh" (see fol. 4a). Inscription in Roman script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "R37" (repeated on the first fly-leaf in red pencil, in the form "37R").
  • Copy completed on Saturday 11 Rajab 739 by ʻAlī ibn ʻUthmān ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Maghribī al-muʼaddib (colophon, fol. 182a).

Binding note
Golden brown leather over pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Orange paper with decorations in blue and yellow pasted on the two covers and the envelope flap. Small round stamps and fillets on the fore-edge flap. Paper pastedowns. Envelope flap disjointed. The last folio has traces of a leather doublure with embossed decoration.
