Summary note

An account completed on 20 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1100 [June 1699] (see end of the copy, fol. 30b) of the author's journey from Damascus to Baʻlabakk and to the plain of the Biqāʻ, from Dhū al-Qaʻdah 15 to Dhū al-Qaʻdah 29 1100 [May 1699].

• Origin: Copied by ʻAdī al-Khāṭī Ibn al-Darwīsh Ḥusayn on a Tuesday at the end of Jumādá al-Awwal 1105 (colophon, fol. 31a). The date is is not clear.
• Incipit: الحمد لله الذي اعز قدر البقاع بما اودع فيها من اهل الارتقا والارتفاع ... اما بعد فيقول شيخنا ... الشيخ عبد الغنى بن الشيخ اسماعيل النابلسي ... لقد سيّر الله تعالي لنا السير الى ارض البقاع.
• Explicit: فان الكل مخلوق بالحق حتي اللعب واللهو والخطا والسهو والله اللطيف الخير العلي الكبير وصلي ... وكر الملاوان قال المصنف ... وقد فرغنا من التحرير ... بيبة الاربعا العشرين من ذي الحجة سنة ماية والف ... وسلم تسليما ابدا ليوم الدين.

Binding note

Later quarter-bound type III (without flap) binding in brown leather and marbled brown, green and cream paper over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Burgundy dyed paper pastedowns.
