4 bifolia, printed on one side only; first and last leaves pasted down to wrappers.
Text the same as in Routledge's 1858 Aunt Mavor ed., but illustrations are different (cf. Cotsen 4402).
Illustrations: 8 leaves each with a three-quarter page chromoxylograph by Evans, 3-4 capitals and text below in black; facing double-leaf "center-fold" with illustration running across both leaves and 6 alphabet letters below; leaves [7] and [8] signed by Evans.
Binding note
Pub. yellow wrappers, with color-printed pictorial design on upper in red and black, repeating l. [1]; publisher's advertisements for Routledge New Juvenile Books, variously priced at 8, 6, or 5 shillings each.
