500    This work appeared in more than 20 editions in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Spain in the 15th century alone. It was first superseded by Erasmus's "De conscribendis epistolis" (1522). Negri gives advice concerning business, congratulations and condolence letters, but also for personal corespondence such as love letters and insulting letters [!!!], with the usual advice on modes of address for persons of different classes.
