• In this harlequinade the Seasons are compared with the ages of man and woman: Spring = Childhood; Summer = Courting; Autumn = Marriage; Winter = Old Age.
• Together with somewhat later red paper (in imitation of straight grain morocco) wraps with ms label. Harlequinade was sewn into wrap, initially with single pamphlet stitch of black thread, which failed, later stitched again with white thread. Ivy removed later stitching bits of the foldovers had been sewn down,.
