Based on maps of Attica by Johann August Kaupert and the British Hydrographic Dept.; ancient place names based on the work of H. Kiepert. Kaupert's Karten von Attika were published from 1881-1903. Kiepert's Atlas antiquus was published in many editions from 1859. cf. Tooley's dictionary of mapmakers.
