Notes
Wonderfully sensitive depiction of the addled heroine. The cloth for the shawl came from the calico factory owned by BP's mother's family.
With A.N.: Jemima 1910. This figure was originally given by Beatrix Potter many years ago to her very good friends living next door in one of her houses "The Castle," Sawry, Miss Hammond and Miss Mills. Jemima had pride of place on top shelf of a book case until late 1950s when they gave it to Freda Jackson (nee Storey) daughter of Tom Storey, BP's farm manager. On her death in 1971 (age 51) it passed to her husband E. Jackson leaving his possession April 12 1994.
Cotsen copy: Lightly soiled, some holes in left foot. Needs cleaning as it smells a bit.
