I. S. Efimov (1878-1959) was a painter, sculptor, teacher, puppeteer, and children's book illustrator whose career spanned both the czarist and Marxist eras. With his wife Nina Siminovich-Efimova, he founded the Russian Theatre of Marionettes, Petrushkas and Shadows in 1918. Not in GANKINA or RATS.
