It was therefore the most useful and widely used schoolbook for nativae children in Mexico throughout the following century, until finally overtaken by numerous Spanish editions of Ripalda's original text. ...
  • "The volume is entirely a Mexican production. The translator, Ignacio de Paredes, was a Mexican Jesuit who taught at the Jesuit colleges in Mexico. The publishing house was founded in 1755. Its production was the work of one man but included works of Calderôn and other poets, all noted for their grceful press-work.
