Notes
Tentative dated from Engelbrecht peepshows.
"Cum privileg: sacra Caes: Maj." --Title page.
Hand-colored picture dictionary comprising 100 engraved plates with nine images on each plate, with corresponding German, Latin, French and Italian terms below each image.
The plates are organized by nouns by Latin declination, adjectives grouped by termination, verbs by conjugation, and concluding with irregular verbs and anomalies.
The layout of the plates--grids of images similar to a lottery sheet--is similar in concept to Louis Couvay's Methodus novus et accurata docendi (also in Cotsen collection).
Cotsen copy: Gift of Pamela K. Harer.
Binding note
Crimson-stained ribbed calf, gilt spine with spine label "Gavinete," hand-colored floral-patterned endpapers.
