Notes
Princeton copy: Imperfect, one of the game boards split across, pieces missing.
Princeton copy: The left hand drawer contains the following pieces: 4 long wood pieces, 2 long wood pieces with red tips, 13 short wood pieces, 1 cylindrical wood container of 12 red dyed ivory disks (large counters), 1 cylindrical wood container of 12 red dyed ivory disks (small counters), 12 ivory pieces with musical notation, 1 ivory plate with treble clef, 12 ivory dice. The right hand drawer contains the following pieces: 9 long ivory pieces, 5 long ivory pieces with red tips, 1 medium length ivory piece, 5 short ivory pieces, 1 cylindrical wood container of 12 ivory disks (large counters), 1 cylindrical wood container of 12 ivory disks (small counters), 14 ivory pieces with musical notation, 1 ivory plate with treble clef, 16 ivory dice. No pieces contained in center compartment.
The game was originally manufactured in 1801. But this may be a later edition since the design matches the illustration of the Musical game in the folding frontispiece of Anne Gunn's, Introduction to Music (Edinburgh: Sold by Muir, Wood, and Co., Leith Street, 1803), an updated explanation of the rules and games contained in the Musical game.
Title and publication information from sheet pasted at bottom of compartment between the drawers.
