According to Rühle, cited below, The child's mirror is a translation of Kinder-Spiegel (ca. 1848). Translations from the German possibly by Madame de Chatelain. The illustrations from Funny leaves are attributed to Alfred Crowquill (Alfred Henry Forrester).
